Safe communities need well-staffed, well-trained, and properly resourced police, fire, and emergency professionals who are held to strong professional standards.

Micaela is rooted in organized labor: a Teamster and CWA shop steward, her father was a delegate in his teacher’s union for 35 years and her grandfather was a union president for 40 years.

Build a public-safety workforce that reflects and retains our community’s diversity and earns trust.

Micaela proudly supports our teachers and prints her mailers at a local union shop.

Micaela responds to bias incidents and will support strengthening the charge of the Human Relations Commission. Every resident, regardless of race, religion, gender, orientation, ability or age should feel safe, seen and heard.

Micaela was a founding member of the Rainbow Coalition and instrumental in bringing Pride events to West Orange. She has served on The RAIN Foundation board since 2018, reflecting a longstanding commitment to LGBTQIA+ advocacy and community support.

Micaela supports gender-neutral restrooms, and achieving full legal, equitable, safety and dignity for all residents. LGBTQIA+ voices are important stakeholders in our municipal government and schools.

Bring back our Pride flag and continue to promote Pride throughout our Township. Every resident deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome.
